In 2019, the founder chairman of Karuna Trust Mr. Mahinda Karunaratne was honored by the Head of the State with Sri Lanka Thilaka for the services rendered to uplift the underprivileged in the country.

In 2017, the North Central Province, Provincial Council honored Mr. Mahinda Karunaratne with Swarna Sammana from the hands of the Head of the State, as the best social worker in the province.

In 2005, Mr. Mahinda Karunaratne was honored with once in life time award for the service rendered to the Sri Lanka printing service by the Sri Lanka Association of Printers.

Divisional Secretary Horan, felicitated Mr. Mahinda Karunaratne for the welfare work he has rendered to uplift the lives of the less fortunate people in the Horana Divisional Secretariat. 

Lions Clubs International District 306 1 Sri Lanka, at their 17^th Annual District Convention, held on Saturday 07^th May 2022, awarded, “Most Outstanding Citizen – 2022”, award to Mr. Mahinda Karunaratne.
